Scott Andrews - Operations Manager

Exeter born and bred Scott has now been at Gidleigh Park since Andrew and Christina Brownsword reopened the hotel in 2006.

Scott was brought up in a catering orientated family and the natural path for him was to attend Exeter Catering College when he left school. Over the three years he attended college he was voted Food Service Student of the Year and Overall Student of the Year.

After a few years working in the industry an opportunity to work at Le Manoir came calling and this is where quality and service took on a new meaning. "I am very proud to say I was one of the first, if not the first, English Head Waiter at Le Manoir and as Raymond Blanc so politely put it “You arrived a boy and left a man”.

With this experience under his hat Scott went on to work for The Le Poussin Group at two of its properties and then returned to Exeter to spend an informative and interesting two years as a food service lecturer at his original catering school in Exeter. After his two years at Exeter College Scott went to work for Fairmont Hotels in Whistler Canada for a year and on his return was approached by a respected former colleague Sue Williams who had a soon to be opened Legendry Hotel on Dartmoor to staff and the rest is history.
