The award-winning two Michelin star restaurant at Gidleigh Park is located near Chagford, in the heart of Dartmoor.
Overlooking the hotels grounds and River Teign, the restaurant's stylish yet traditional interior, genuine warmth of the team, care and attention to detail, combined with fine food and wines, ensure that your visit will hold many happy memories.
Michael Caines has been executive head chef at Gidleigh Park since 1994 and has held two Michelin stars since 1999, one of Britain’s most acclaimed chefs. Included in his many accolades and awards are AA Chef of the Year 2007, and an MBE in 2006.
Michael’s commitment to Devon and the produce of the South West continues to provide inspiration for his creativity; the theatre of food continues to excite Michael and his cuisine is constantly evolving.

Lunch and dinner in the restaurant at Gidleigh Park is a more adult affair and we ask that children are aged eight years and over.
Booking Policy: Due to demand for tables, on receipt of your online booking we shall call you on the telephone number provided to obtain credit card details to secure the booking.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation of the entire reservation can be made without charge if we are informed with no less than 48 hours notice.
Cancellation or a reduction in the number of people on any reservation, with less than 48 hours notice, will result in the below cancellation charge for each person cancelled. These charges will also be levied for No Shows.
Lunch reservations: £40 per person
Dinner reservation: £105.00 per person
We reserve the right to cancel any booking if:
- Any part of the hotel is closed or otherwise unavailable because of events outside our control.
- You or we become insolvent or in the case of an individual, become subject to a bankruptcy petition.
- The booking might damage the reputation of the hotel.
Dining at Gidleigh Park
We ask that guests arrive 30 minutes prior to their reserved dining time, to enjoy an apéritif and peruse the three different menus on offer (pre booking of a specific menu is not necessary, your choice can be made on the day).
We kindly ask that if there are any specific dietary requirements you use the additional requests box during the booking process.
Lunch is served from 12.00pm to 2.30pm.
Lunch Menu; two courses, £40.00 per person; three courses, £52.00 per person; coffee and petit four, £7.00 per person.
À la carte three courses with coffee and petit four, £105.0 per person.
Signature Menu eight courses with coffee and petit four, £125.00 per person.
