Biodynamic Wine Lunch from £95 per person

Biodynamic wine production is one step beyond organic.

Not only are no chemicals used in the vineyard but a lot of very hard work goes into making sure that the vines are as healthy and deeply rooted in the ecosystem as possible. Biodynamic certification is a sound guarantee of responsible environmental practice, the wines should always have a clear sense of place (terroir) and quality can be exceptional.

During this fascinating lunch you will have the opportunity to discover about the viticulture behind these wines and sample a carefully chosen selection. Beginning at 11.15am with apéritifs to then be seated at 12 noon, our event will be hosted by Gidleigh Park’s Master Sommelier Edouard Oger and highly respected biodynamic wine supplier, Frédéric Grappe, enhanced by Executive Head Chef Michael Caines MBE who is creating and introducing each course.

Executive Head Chef Michael Caines MBE has held two Michelin Stars at Gidleigh Park for the last 15 years. With his classical French training in some of the finest restaurants in the world, Michael has created a style that is uniquely his own, classically British in many ways and yet highly innovative, with European influences. Michael’s cooking is also firmly linked to the West Country, utilising the best and freshest local and seasonal produce.

Thursday 9th October 2014.
